Bek Chapman has a solid background in piano, voice, acting, cabaret, choral work, and musical theatre. From rock'n'roll to children's entertainment, her experience is extensive. She is consequently easy-going, confident, flexible and a versatile singer and actor who takes direction easily and brings a wonderful sense of fun to everything she does.
She is constantly sought after by local Melbourne bands for backing vocals and keys work, including St Jude, Pinky Beecroft, Gretel Killeen and has performed with cabaret royalty Dolly Diamond and Luke Gallagher.
She co-founded, co-wrote and co-sung with a cappella girl group The Nymphs for just under a decade, who appeared on Spicks'n'Specks and toured with Rockwiz for the Queensland Country Comfort Hour and the Christmas Tour and appeared on an advertisement for the ABC.
She was nominated for a Guild Award for her performance as Maria in The Sound of Music in Beaumaris Theatre's 2010 production and has performed with the Savoy Opera Company and The Victorian Opera. She worked as a pre-school music teacher with Mini Maestros and voiced their TV commercial in 2016 and can be heard on their CD's.
On stage, album and screen, she is privileged to have appeared alongside the likes of Damian Cowell (TISM), Henry Rollins, The Bedroom Philosopher, Tony Martin, Judith Lucy, Kate Miller-Heidke, Shaun Micallef, Julia Zemiro, Brian Nankervis, Patience Hodgson, John Saffran, Tim Rogers, Ian Moss, Liz Stringer, Lee Lin Chin, James Blundell, Sam Pang, Don Walker, Katie Underwood, Christine Anu, Russell Morris, James Black, Dan and Peter Luscombe and many more!
She has a Bachelor of Music from Melbourne University in which she majored in Classical Voice and Composition, has appeared on Spicks & Specks, The Marngrook Footy Show, Rockwiz and the ABC. She toured as a singer with Rockwiz and Pinky Beecroft & The White Russians and as an actor/ dancer/ singer with Tony Bones Entertainment and Class Act Theatre. She has performed The Bek Chapman Kids Show at The Finders Keepers Festival in Melbourne and is working on her up-coming podcast of Law-and-Order Spoof - Hectic Justice.
